Designed for more advanced cookie decorators, each cookie is meant to look like a little beach day vignette/scene. Aall of the intricate designs really bring the "intermediate" level in this cookie class! Pair a couple of these designs with simpler ones for a more bulk-friendly set of cookies to impress this summer.
Every cookie is made on a CIRCLE with JUST royal icing!! So much variety and detail achieved with just one shape and limited tools means less money and less time spent prepping!

The cutter used in this class is a 3" circle (I like the one from Brighton Cutters). (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)

A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

I've taken the beginner classes thus far but wanted to try a harder one! It was a lot more detailed. Grace did a great job at explaining how to do everything! Highly recommend!
I baked 3” circles before choosing which class design to make, and intended to make Beginning Summer, but then I thought, “you know what, I want to make something really impressive!” I decided to jump right into these beach scenes on my fifth full batch of royal icing cookies and made beautiful cookies that look like the pictures. Grace’s instructions are very clear and understandable, well-paced, and she anticipates questions a participant might have when she’s teaching.
The layers of detail in these vignettes just blow me away. They are so fancy!
Grace is not kidding that making a full batch of these five designs is a lot of work. I did the first five cookies over about two hours in the evening, and then the remaining 17 took the majority of the next day, rewatching the video but doing multiples at each step. I got worried about running out of flood consistency sand color icing, but the bear texture with the paintbrush is done with piping and I’d forgotten about that between viewings of the class.
Learned several new techniques in this class. The step by step video and work book made it very easy to end up with an awesome set of cookies. This was my first class but will definitely be purchasing more!
I’ve taken several classes from The Graceful Baker and have loved each one! The workbook that she provides is amazing! The video class is perfectly paced. If you are slightly inclined to buy a class….do it! You will not be disappointed!
This is my second class with Grace. I really click with her teaching style! With each new design and technique, I’m gaining more confidence as a cookies! My favorite from this set was the beach towel/blanket. (I did put the thongs on the sandals going the right direction). Great class!
