This class is suitable for beginner cookiers (both brand new to royal icing/never decorated before and those who have some experience). This set of cookies uses just 4 colors, ONE icing consistency and just ONE cookie cutter (or you could even just use a water glass)!
Fewer colors, consistencies and cookie cutters means less time prepping and less money spent on supplies.

What you receive with purchase:
- Class video recording (this class was originally delivered live, so you're transported right into my energy and will finish the class having completed the entire set of cookies)
- Digital workbook (step-by-step instructions that guide you through purchasing supplies, baking the cookies, making the icing and decorating the cookies)
Techniques we'll cover in class:
- One consistency outline and flood
- Working with tipless bags
- Piping and flooding with a thick flood
- Different wet on wet technique applications (leopard and bear)
- Cutouts
The cutter used in this class is a 3" circle (I like the one from Brighton Cutters). (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)

A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

My 5 year old daughter and l did this class this past weekend. Our first attempt EVER at royal icing & cookie decorating. She had a BLAST. She decorated hers all by herself, l was so impressed. Grace did a wonderful job explaining each step. The instruction booklet & video were both incredibly thorough. I learned an amazing amount of info and tips! And our cookies turned out so cute. Not perfect (we’ll keep practicing!) but way better than l thought they would!

I’ve never one time decorated cookies and this class was exactly what I needed to get started. My goal is to decorate cookies using only artificial dye free coloring so my colors are quite dull in comparison, but the process itself was perfect. We have loved all our Graceful Baker courses we have purchased (about six of the beginner ones), and this course is no exception! These are super cute, super simple and easy Halloween cookies. We even added in some bright purple and dashes of luster dust for variety and sparkle (we made three dozen for a party and everyone just loved them). Such a great class!
