This class is suitable for beginner cookiers (both brand new to royal icing/never decorated before and those who have some experience). This set of cookies uses just 4 colors, ONE icing consistency and just ONE cookie cutter (or you could even just use a water glass)!
Fewer colors, consistencies and cookie cutters means less time prepping and less money spent on supplies.

What you receive with purchase:
- Class video recording (this class was originally delivered live, so you're transported right into my energy and will finish the class having completed the entire set of cookies)
- Digital workbook (step-by-step instructions that guide you through purchasing supplies, baking the cookies, making the icing and decorating the cookies)
Techniques we'll cover in class:
- One consistency outline and flood
- Working with tipless bags
- Piping and flooding with a thick flood
- Different wet on wet technique applications (leopard and bear)
- Cutouts
The cutter used in this class is a 3" circle (I like the one from Brighton Cutters). (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)

A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

This was a great class for a beginner. My Jack’o lanterns were a mess, but they were definitely a learning experience on leaving the room for the icing to spread AND I knew my orange was too thin. So definitely lots of learning opportunities. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the rest of the designs turned out! Can’t wait to make these again closer to Halloween!🎃
This was my first beginner class and I loved it!! I’ve even done a second. Grace was so helpful and I love the way I can keep going back when I get stumped. The cookies pictured here weren’t the best looking ones, I gave the best away. I used her recipes, love the cookie recipe. The lemon in the icing wasn’t my favorite, next time I’ll use a little less or just stick with the vanilla. The whole experience was delightful, I can’t wait to start with Christmas.
If you are thinking about taking the class… you should definitely take it!! You won’t regret it!
After taking my first class, I managed to improve my icing consistency. I was having so much trouble on decorating my cookies due to my consistency but after finishing the class I was able to decorate 2 dozens without an issue. I am a beginner and I will definitely keep practicing more with different classes!
I’ve never decorated cookies before, and I’m often intimidated to try something brand new. Grace’s beginner classes are fool proof; she has a way of breaking every step down so anyone can follow. She’s also encouraging anyone taking her class to have FUN and not stress about imperfections. I had a blast and will be buying another course!
