The orange slices were my favorite in appearance and though I don't like the color orange, I thought the cookies were cute in the end. I used a lemon base cookie with lemon royal icing and it was perfect to compliment the citrus theme. I find it hard to judge depth of color so my shading effect on the orange was a little too pale but it didn't affect the taste so who cares?
