I’ve been decorating cookies my whole life and I didn’t know what I was doing wrong until I took your class, read the instructions and worked along with your video!!
I baked my cookies and made the icing for these cookies the same days I prepped for the Beginner Winter class I did. And I can say, with the prep days guide Grace gives, it’s definitely possible and makes it easy to prep and decorate different cookies on the same (if not in 2) days. This was such a fun class to take. I found it was a little easier maybe because the icing was thicker (and it’s hard to make perfect circles haha). I didn’t make all the designs, but I really enjoyed trying out the different techniques and working with edible gold! I have two more classes I plan to try out in the new year and I can’t wait ti give them a go and share with my fam and coworkers - they LOVED the designs and the taste of the cookies.
When I tell you I was freaking out about making these cookies! All for them to turn out super cute and taste amazing!! I’ve worked a little with royal icing before but just for the icing on gingerbread houses haha. Grace’s videos were very informative and she really guides you through every little step. And the best part is being able to really just take a deep breath and go with the flow. Especially as someone who is just starting learning to cookie decorate, this class was a fun way to be introduced to the world!
I have been wanting to take a class by Grace for about a year and a half. I finally caved and had the best time! Grace is an extremely descriptive teacher and the whole time I was taking the class, I felt like I was hanging out with a friend. Grace also is perfect for someone who is a visual learner because working with royal icing, it's best to see the consistencies you need to make. One note I will say, if you have any type of arthritis or carpal tunnel, your hands will probably hurt once you are finished as it does take a decent amount of pressure to pip and flood. For me, flooding was worse on my hand. 10/10 would recommend
