This set was designed with at-home beginner cookiers in mind, so it uses ONE consistency, JUST 3 colors (but I encourage you to use whatever color combo makes you happy!) and just one cookie cutter.
Fewer colors, consistencies and cutters means less time prepping and less money spent on supplies. Yes, you heard that right! Now that's my kind of beginner class!

The cutter used in this class is the 3.25" basic heart cutter from Brighton Cutters. (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)

A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

I really enjoyed learning new techniques!
I really enjoyed this class and the new skills that I learned. Most of the cookies in this class are wet on wet, so they are one and done. However, my favorite design is the purple heart with the white drip and the sprinkles. Grace is great teacher and explains the decorating techniques in a way that makes them easy to understand. This was actually my third class with her, and have two more in the queue! I like to decorate all my cookies during the class, so I pause the video after she teaches the technique for one design to go ahead and do all the cookies I’m going to decorate with that design. I highly recommend these classes!
This is my first attempt at cookie decorating and this class was perfect. Grace goes step by step in the class video. The workbook gives so much information that you need as a beginner. What tools to buy, recommendations, where to buy, how to prep. I just loved it. Sharing a couple of pictures of my beginner cookies. I look forward to taking more classes.
The video was very helpful. She explained every little detail. She goes slow but not too slow and demonstrates exactly how to decorate the cookies. I am a beginner and I could do this! I highly recommend this video.
