Become a Halloween cookie crafting master with our BEGINNER HALLOWEEN Online Cookie Decorating Class!
This class is suitable for beginner cookiers (both brand new to royal icing/never decorated before and those who have some experience). This set of cookies uses just 4 colors, ONE icing consistency and just ONE cookie cutter (or you could even just use a water glass)!
Fewer colors, consistencies and cookie cutters means less time prepping and less money spent on supplies.
Skill Level: Beginner
Video Duration: 2 hours
Designs Covered: 7
What you receive with purchase:
- Class video recording (this class was originally delivered live, so you're transported right into my energy and will finish the class having completed the entire set of cookies)
 - Digital workbook (step-by-step instructions that guide you through purchasing supplies, baking the cookies, making the icing and decorating the cookies)

Techniques we'll cover in class:
- One consistency outline and flood
 - Working with tipless bags
 - Piping and flooding with a thick flood
 - Different wet on wet technique applications (leopard and bear)
 - Cutouts

Designs made in this class:
- Cauldron
 - Skull
 - Spider web
 - Monster
 - Jack o Lantern
 - Mummy
 - Candy swirl

The cutter used in this class is a 3" circle (I like the one from Brighton Cutters). (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)
The original sets of cookie cutters are all linked in the description of each class listing. The class workbook includes alternatives options from sources like Amazon, for example.
A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
 - Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
 - Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right

My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

Yes! But please be aware that most of the recommended materials and required cookie cutters for our classes come from US-based small businesses or USA Amazon, which might incur larger shipping costs if you are acquiring them from outside the US.
If you would like to cut down on shipping costs for this reason, we would recommend purchasing one of the one “shape” classes as they require fewer individual cutters and may even be a generic shape that you could find at your local shop.
Our beginner level classes also require fewer tools and extra materials like sprinkles, etc. so that may be a lower shipping cost option as well.

This was my husband and I’s first cookie class and we had so much fun! The instruction booklet was so informative, and the online videos were easy to follow. We are planning to do a Christmas class next and have recommended the classes to many family and friends. Thank you Graceful Baker all the way from BC, Canada.
I enjoy Grace’s online classes so much! The video guides you through decorating each cookie. You always get to see a finished cookie first, Grace explains the steps to complete the cookie, then you can decorate your cookie while watching her complete her own cookie. This makes the process easy to do. Thank you for sharing your talent!
This spooky beginner class made for such a fun girls night in! Everyone was at different ability levels but the step by step instructions and one consistency and 4 colors made it super attainable for all to create cute and spooky cookies
I learned a whole lot more than I ever knew I didn't know about royal icing and cookies and now I feel like... not a pro, but I impress my friends and fam.
This was such a fun course, even my kids could do parts of it (some better than others..) The second pic is of my 3.5 y/o. He was able to flood the face, the hair, and draw the eyes and mouth!
My icing consistency wasn't my best.. I hadn't worked with royal icing since like last Christmas and forgot how it was supposed to be. That being said, I used way more liquid than her recipe did, but I also only did half lemon and half water. Either way, she recommend having a notebook for all of your cookie endeavours and making notes about what worked and what didn't. I should definitely take that advice.
I will be buying more classes in the future. At this point, I know what I'm doing in general, but I really like the pages that have the pictures and the step by step pics and I print those out so I can walk my kids through it too. If I could buy only those, I would, but I think she had a post last year about why she doesn't do that and I totally respect that, so I'll just keep buying the whole class because it is worth it!
