A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

This was my first time decorating cookies (except for maybe a gingerbread man when I was a kid). The detailed and methodical instructions, both written and video are easy to follow, as a compulsive organizer I greatly appreciated this! I was eyeing these classes all summer because I really wanted to get into cookie-ing. It seemed like it had everything I needed and boy was I correct. Grace gives you literally EVERYTHING. But the most helpful is pictures and videos of what things look like in the baking process. I’ve been a hobby baker for friends and family all my life but always had that moment of “well what do the mean by this, or is this the right consistency”. With these classes there’s non of that. Grace has thought of it all and made it so insanely easy. I took a little freedom with this set because blue for fall just isn’t in my pallets and the cheetah print wasn’t working for me but I loved the design on the mug. And the sweater just wasn’t working for me either so I switched to an apple (that I know needs some work) but this is my second time ever doing this set and with Grace’s classes it truly made it easier to do. So thank you Grace for these! You are truly amazing for doing this. Your hard work is so very much appreciated.
This is a great beginner set, and I love that Grace use the same cookie cutters for the set as well as the intermediate so that I could do both with just that one set of cookie cutters!
