BEGINNER WINTER ~ Online Cookie Decorating Class
Learn the basics of cookie decorating in our beginner-friendly, winter-inspired BEGINNER WINTER Online Cookie Decorating Class.
This set was made with at-home beginner cookiers in mind, so it uses ONE consistency, ONE shape (a circle!!) and 4 colors. Yes, you heard that right! Now that's my kind of beginner class!
Fewer consistencies and colors = less time spent prepping. One shape (that's a circle) and = less money spent on supplies.

The cutter used in this class is a 3" circle (I like the one from Brighton Cutters). (The workbook also provides alternative cutter options, including options from Amazon.)
The original sets of cookie cutters are all linked in the description of each class listing. The class workbook includes alternatives options from sources like Amazon, for example.
A general guideline for skill level:
- Beginner: never worked with royal icing before (even if you're an experienced baker) or a handful of times
- Advanced Beginner: has worked with royal icing for +/- 6 months and sometimes gets the icing consistency right
- Intermediate: has worked with royal icing for 1 year+ and often gets the icing consistency right
My classes are designed for success *no matter* how much experience you have with royal icing. Whether you've never touched it before or you've been working with royal icing for years, you are SURE to impress all of your friends and family with your edible creations thanks to my detailed instructions and warm approach!
All of my cookie decorating classes include the same cookie and icing prep regardless of the skill level. While others differentiate skill level partly based on how much prep is provided, I provide the same prep regardless and differentiate skill level based on the techniques covered in the set and amount of decorations/tools required.

All for them to turn out super cute and taste amazing!! I’ve worked a little with royal icing before but just for the icing on gingerbread houses haha. Grace’s videos were very informative and she really guides you through every little step. And the best part is being able to really just take a deep breath and go with the flow. Especially as someone who is just starting learning to cookie decorate, this class was a fun way to be introduced to the world!
I have been wanting to take a class by Grace for about a year and a half. I finally caved and had the best time! Grace is an extremely descriptive teacher and the whole time I was taking the class, I felt like I was hanging out with a friend. Grace also is perfect for someone who is a visual learner because working with royal icing, it's best to see the consistencies you need to make. One note I will say, if you have any type of arthritis or carpal tunnel, your hands will probably hurt once you are finished as it does take a decent amount of pressure to pip and flood. For me, flooding was worse on my hand. 10/10 would recommend
Absolutely loved this class. The steps were very easy to follow and as detailed as needed. I highly recommend reading all the steps before starting as I tried to pipe and read at the same time at first and confused myself a bit. It worked out so much better doing one thing at a time. I have no decorating training and did this. Im so proud of myself and glad I bought this!
Grace does such a FANTASTIC job of giving you a complete set of instrIuctions from start to finish. I love that she is so knowledgeable and frequently shares the explanation behind common booboos. The practice sheets were actually a game changer. And using a single consistency (mostly) to complete a whole set of cookies was a major confidence booster. I think my cookies will get better and better with practice and Grace's great tips and information. Super fun. Highly recommend.
Not bad for my first time ever! I must say, this is a long process, but the results are worthwhile. About eight hours over 3 days… one to read the workbook and prepare, 2-3 to make the cookies, one to make the icing and color it, then 3-4 to finalize the icing and decorate the cookies. A labor of love!
The teaching is fantastic. The lemon icing is delicious, but i might prefer vanilla for this time of year. Maybe I’ll make some more next week, hee hee. Thank you!
